"Giants" of Dartmouth

Share This On:

World-renowned knee surgeon Freddie Fu, MD, talks about how his life path brought him to Dartmouth for undergraduate and medical school education in the 1970s. Fu says he was fortunate that Dartmouth provided him "with the thinking, education and the connections to spring forward." He says there are many "giants" at Dartmouth who inspired him, and encouraged him to pursue his dreams in the practice of orthopedic surgery in Pittsburgh.

Two Dartmouth graduates doing orthopedic surgery residencies under Fu at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center say that Dartmouth has leaders at institutions around the country, and "if you look back at the names who have come through the Dartmouth-UPMC pipeline, it's just extremely humbling to be a young resident in the company of these essentially giants in orthopedics."
